Luxury holiday property in Devon with wood-burner fire
For a cosy winter break, particularly at Christmas, a self-catering house with an open fire or wood-burner is a must.
Both these luxury holiday properties on the North Devon coast boast wood-burners and a generous pile of kindling and logs to keep you snuggled next to the fire and watching the flames even though the underfloor heating keeps the house toasty.
Owner, Steve Willoughby, is very good at bringing kindling for Southclay and The Annex when he comes home from work, splitting up old pallets to make lightings. A wheelbarrow of logs from the woods nearby a few sheets of newspaper, a match.... and hey presto! If any of the guests are unsure how to light a wood fire the owners are happy to advise.
