The Annexe

The Annexe is a five-star cottage that sleeps up to eight people, with two en-suite bedrooms and exclusive use of a hot tub, swimming pool and table tennis table. It also has shared use of a tennis court with the owners (though they rarely use it!). Part of a charming 17th-century Devon longhouse, The Annexe boasts thick stone walls, a slate roof and a rose growing over the doorway. The property is located at the edge of a friendly village, overlooking the beautiful North Devon coastline, and is the perfect holiday location for families, friends and couples alike.

    Accessed by wooden stairs with a door at the bottom, this spacious bedroom suite can comfortably sleep a family of 4-6 in a king-size double and two single beds. Cots or a double inflatable bed can be added on request. With a high ceiling, open rafters, double-aspect windows and a stunning view of the sea, the room feels beautifully airy and spacious. The ensuite has a shower, toilet and basin but no bath (there is a bath downstairs).

    Downstairs Bedroom

    This room has a gloriously large superking bed where you can stretch out in comfort. Deliciously cool in the summer and warm in the winter, the thick stone walls work their magic to maintain a comfortable temperature all year round. This downstairs bedroom has its own luxurious bathroom tiled from floor to ceiling, with underfloor heating, a large bath and wetroom-style shower.

    The Annexe contains a fully fitted kitchen with seating for six people and all the modern appliances you would expect (and more!). There is also a separate living room with a cosy woodburner for cooler evenings. Both rooms have glass doors onto the patio, which forms a delightful sun trap in the afternoon.

    Outside you'll also find the hot tub, located directly next to the house, and a gas BBQ. There is nothing more wonderful than winding down in the jacuzzi towards the end of the day, breathing in the fresh sea air and watching the sun go down over the Atlantic coast!

    Located in the small village of Abbotsham, The Annexe is beautifully peaceful all year round. The property is easily accessed from the M5 / North Devon Link Road but is far enough away from any major thoroughfares to feel undisturbed by traffic noise or pollution. 

    NOTE: There are some steps on the ground floor (one between the kitchen and living room, plus a small step into the bathroom) that may make it unsuitable for people with limited mobility. If you would like further advice, please do get in touch.
